Today, Grammy-nominated band, The Mar\u00edas<\/strong> release their highly anticipated new single \u201cBack To Me”<\/strong> and drop surprise track \u201cNobody New\u201d <\/strong>via Nice Life Recording Company\/Atlantic Records <\/strong>– listen here<\/u><\/a>. The band also shared the official music video for \u201cBack to Me,\u201d directed by C Prinz – watch here.<\/u><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Produced by Josh Conway and written together \u201cBack to Me\u201d is a song of desperation & yearning. The dreamy synths, heavy bass and catchy lyrics make for an addicting listen. Surprise single \u201cNobody New\u201d  matches the theme of loneliness as lead singer Mar\u00eda Zardoya\u2019s Latin vocals enhance the melancholic slowed down track. Benny Blanco is credited as a writer on the B-Side and it was produced by Josh Conway & Mar\u00eda. The two new tracks come ahead of the band\u2019s return to the desert to perform at Coachella next weekend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the release Mar\u00eda shares \u201c\u2018Back to me\u2019 was written a couple months after Submarine was complete. We were jamming in the studio as a band, and the guys were experimenting with some new synth sounds and ominous chords. I immediately went into the vocal booth, and the melody and lyrics came to me faster than any other song. It felt like divine intervention. After finishing it, it felt like the start of a new era beyond Submarine. Consider it an introduction to a new world.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSubmarine dealt with the raw emotions of going through a heartbreak right after it happened. \u2018Back to me\u2019 is what comes after \u2013 the breakup actually happens when an ex moves on to someone new. It deals with the emotions that come along with that. Even though in the end you may not want them back at all, in the moment, that\u2019s all you want to relieve the pain\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fans have been eagerly awaiting the release of \u201cBack to Me\u201d since the band initially teased it during their run opening for Billie Eilish last winter. The single release comes in the midst of a series of headline shows across Latin America in addition to festival performances at Lollapalooza Argentina, Chile & Brazil.\u00a0 The Mar\u00edas will also hit additional US festivals including Lollapalooza in Chicago & Hinterland in Iowa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Most recently, The Mar\u00edas<\/a> were featured on Selena Gomez & Benny Blanco\u2019s new track,\u00a0\u201cOjos Tristes\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0– listen\u00a0<\/a>HERE<\/u><\/a>. Reviewed as a standout track from the album, the band is also credited as producers and songwriters. \u201cOjos Tristes\u201d has garnered over 20 million global streams in less than a week of release and debuted at #59 the Billboard Hot 100.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Mar\u00edas continue their momentum off the heels of their sophomore album Submarine <\/em>(2024) <\/em>which received great critical praise and debuted at #17 on the Billboard Top 200 upon release. Hit single \u201cNo One Noticed\u201d from the album is currently peaking at #17 on Top 40 radio and marked the band\u2019s highest charting Billboard Hot 100 single to date, reaching #22. Continuing their charting success, The Mar\u00edas currently have four songs on the Spotify US 200 Chart; \u201cNo One Noticed\u201d at #19, \u201cOjos Tristes\u201d at #52, \u201cSienna\u201d at #148 and \u201cHeavy\u201d at #173. About The Mar\u00edas:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Mar\u00edas are the Grammy-nominated psychedelic-soul lovechild of Puerto Rican-bred, Atlanta-raised Mar\u00eda Zardoya and Los Angeles native, Josh Conway. The two are joined by their closest friends, Jesse Perlman on guitar and Edward James on keys. Their undeniably intuitive musical chemistry can be heard in the band\u2019s smooth rendezvous of jazz percussion, hypnotic guitar riffs, smoke-velvet vocals and nostalgic horn solos. There\u2019s something undeniably sensual in their dreamlike fusion of jazz, psychedelia, funk and lounge. The  Mar\u00edas recently wrapped their headlining U.S Tour with sold-out shows across the country and Europe. They are currently performing at festivals across Latin America & Mexico and will be taking the stage at both upcoming weekends of Coachella.
